Worried about leaving too much money to your children? Horrified by the idea of your heirs losing their drive and initiative because of their generous trust funds? Nervous that your descendants will fritter away everything you worked so hard for? Then it’s time for you to consider joining…
The Vanitas Society
A bequest society of the Harvard Lampoon that recognizes Lampoon alumni and friends who make legacy gifts to the Lampoon.
Leave Your Legacy
A bequest costs nothing today, can be changed at any time, and may be structured as:
A specific dollar amount
A percentage of your estate
A designated asset
You can include the Lampoon in your will—or simply name the Lampoon as a beneficiary of your IRA or 401(k). It’s quick, flexible, and may reduce estate taxes, so your family will thank you (note: family not guaranteed to thank you).
For Older Members who are Hard of Hearing
LEAVE YOUR MONEY TO THE LAMPOON. IN YOUR WILL. YOUR WILL. NOT PHIL. YOUR WILL, MOTHER!!!
For Elderly Members who have already been Struck with Alzheimer’s
Why can’t you recognize me, Mother?!? I’m your son. What do you mean you’ve fallen in love with someone in the memory ward? What about Father?
Founding Member Recognition
Those who document their bequest during the 150th Anniversary year will be recognized as Founding Members of The Vanitas Society. A small but tasteful pin designed by William C. Wu ’94 will tell the world that you remembered the Lampoon in your estate planning.
An Old Joke
--Have you heard about the Vanitas Society which recognizes members who have mentioned the Lampoon in their wills? It’s so exclusive, alums are dying to get in.
Declare Your Intent
After including the Lampoon in your estate plans, please let us know by completing this quick form below or notifying Nancy Petkunas at elmer@harvardlampoon.com so we may recognize your gift and welcome you to The Vanitas Society.
